Spoleto USA Chamber Music Director Dedicated to Finding the Right Performers

For violinist Geoff Nuttall, finding the right performers for the Bank of America Chamber Music Series is critical.

"Everybody that comes is not only amazing and an incredible player," Geoff says, "but also super-easy to work with and a joy to hang out with."

That easy collaboration goes a long way in a chamber music series that features eleven unique programs and thirty-three total performances, all over the course of two weeks. Each program of the series offers pieces of varying instrumentation and styles, from baroque concerti grossi to the 2018 string octet Gawain's Journey by Spoleto newcomer and composer-in-residence, Doug Balliett. Also making its Spoleto Festival debut is the JACK Quartet, critically-acclaimed for its dedication to the performance and commissioning of new music.

Charleston's historic Dock Street Theatre plays host to the chamber series, which runs through June 10th.
