Homemade Lemonade

Lemonade is the perfect thirst quencher on hot summer days, but some lemonade brands can contain additives and preservatives.  Avoid the additives and be sure your lemonade is organic by making your own tart juice at home.  Start with 6 lemons, organic if you can get them, two quarts of cold water and once cup of sugar.  You can adjust the sugar or use a natural sugar alternative to suit your dietary needs.  Making lemonade is simple.  Cut your lemons in half and squeeze them into a measure cup.  To avoid squeezing seeds and pulp into the mix, hold the lemon with the sliced against your palm.  You should end up with about a cup and a half of lemon juice.  Then mix the juice, sugar and water together in a large pitcher and enjoy.  Don’t forget you can use those lemon rinds to clean out the odor in your garbage disposal.
