Go Green at the Super Market

Earthsense

Being eco-conscious is a transition that happens one small step at a time and realizing that every small choice you make every day adds up to making a big difference.  Here are some tips for going green at the super market.

Tip number one for everyone is to bring your own bags- it seems so simple, but I’m still surprised at the number of people who default to plastic bags.  Buying in season and local produce helps the local economy and your nutritional bottom line.  Plan your shopping to consolidate trips to the store and plan your weekly meals to reduce food waste.  Purchase products with minimal and recyclable packaging.  I try to buy in glass jars rather than plastic whenever possible.  Stop buying single use disposable items and bottled water!  And finally use the same care and discretion when buying non-food items like personal care products.
