Green Your Diet

Earthsense

We often talk about ways to go green on Earth Sense and often these tips can include turning off a light when you leave the room or reusing items to reduce landfill waste, but you can green your diet as well.  Here are five green super foods that will jumpstart your healthy eating plans.

Asparagus is great for your skin since it contains antioxidants that help reduce the effects of skin damage from the sun, but it’s also a good for your heart’s health.  Avocados offer up monounsaturated fat that can help reduce cholesterol.  Brussels sprouts contain cancer fighting sulfur compounds which are responsible for their pungent aroma.   Kale is a better source of calcium than spinach and is packed with phytochemicals that have been shown to prevent vision loss and cataracts.  And finally, Kiwifruit is the perfect portable snack rich in vitamin C, fiber, and potassium.
