DHEC Announces Locations for Free Tetanus Vaccinations Oct. 12-13

   The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control will continue to offer free tetanus vaccinations on Monday, Oct. 12, and Tuesday, Oct. 13, to South Carolina residents affected by heavy flooding.

Clinics will be held at the following locations on these dates:

Monday, Oct. 12, 2015
Lexington County Library Irmo Branch 6251 St. Andrews Road Columbia, S.C. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Bloomingdale Community Center 8296 Thurgood Marshall Highway Andrews, S.C. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015 
Williamsburg County Department of Social Services 831 N. Eastland Avenue Kingstree, S.C. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

DHEC reminds all storm-affected residents that a tetanus vaccination is recommended if it’s been10 years or more since your last tetanus vaccination or you have experienced an injury and your shot is more than five years old. DHEC will also offer no-cost tetanus vaccinations at health departments statewide beginning Monday, Oct. 12.

To make an appointment for a tetanus vaccination at a health department near you, call 1-800-868-0404. DHEC will continue to announce vaccination clinics at www.scdhec.gov as times and locations become available.
