Santee Cooper Offers Solar Workshops

Earthsense

Santee Cooper first introduced solar to the South Carolina electrical grid in 2006 with a project at Coastal Carolina University and their renewable energy portfolio includes 28 Green Power Solar School demonstration projects generating power at 28 schools throughout the state. As part of their efforts to educate the public about solar energy, Santee Cooper is offering two educational workshops focusing on solar energy for its customers.

Both workshops will cover how solar energy systems work and are installed as well as provide insight into the current federal, state and utility incentives being offered in the Santee Cooper service territory.  The first, “Solar Energy 101 for Homes Workshop” takes place Saturday, June 18th at the Surfside Beach Public Library from 10:30am to 12pm.   The second, “Solar Energy 101 for Businesses Lunch & Learn” takes place June 21st at the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce from 12pm to 1pm.  Please RSVP to nsafay@nexant.com or 843-274-1170.
