The South Carolina Department of Transportation will begin roadside debris pick-up on Monday. Residents should sort items by category.
- Household trash should not be left for roadside pick-up; use your regular trash pick-up day.
- Vegetation: trees, limbs, other yard waste.
- Wet carpet, furniture, sheet-rock, bricks, and stones.
- White goods: appliances such as refrigerators, water heaters, etc.
- Electronics
- Household chemicals: paint, gas cans, etc.
Items should be brought to the edge of the road without blocking fire-hydrants or signs, etc. Residents receiving insurance assistance for property clean up should not use roadside pick-up, but should work with their insurance company to coordinate clean up.For more information, visit www.scdot.org.
