Stay Healthy- Wash Your Hands

We’re in the middle of cold and flu season, and while many people around you are getting sick, there are things that you can do to help keep yourself healthy.  The first line of defense is to wash your hands often and properly. It doesn’t seem like a difficult task, but many people incorrectly wash their hands.  Use luke warm water, and sing your ABC’s while washing your hands.  This will ensure that you’re sudsing long enough to kill the germs.  Don’t forget to get under those fingernails, as germs and viruses can hide out here.  According to the Mayo clinic, anti-bacterial soap is no more effective than regular soap, so any liquid, bar or powder soap will do.  There are even a few studies that suggest using anti-bacterial soap can lead to the development of super germs that are resistant to antimicrobial agents.
