Freezing Temperature Expected Through Sunday

Forecasters predict freezing temperatures in parts of South Carolina through Sunday. The latest forecast from National Weather Service in Columbia shows the temperature dipping below the freezing point this evening in the Upstate and parts of Midlands, with Sunday’s high just below 40 degrees.

South Carolina Emergency Management Division officials encourage everyone to be prepared for conditions to persist through Sunday by keeping exposure to cold weather to minimum. The SCEMD also encourages residents unaccustomed to hazardous wintry weather to visit the SCEMD website. There they can access the severe winter weather guide for potentially life-saving tips on how to make it through the winter storm. They also remind everyone to monitor SCEMD, DOT and other state agency social media handles for updates.
