Thanksgiving Pet Safety

We’ve been talking about your Thanksgiving preparations this week and tomorrow is the big day!  You’ve gotten your food locally and the bird is already thawing.  The decorations are in place and your centerpiece is ready.  But when it comes to cooking the meal, keep in mind that it could be dangerous to feed your pet the same foods that you enjoy at the table.

If you do give Fido a nibble of turkey, make sure it’s a boneless and well done morsel.  And just as you avoid raw bread dough and cake batter, your pet shouldn’t eat them either.  What about the left-overs?  When it’s time to clean up, instead of letting your pet "Hoover" up the mess, set out a small container for compostable material.  This way, you can avoid scraping all those nutrients into the trash can!
