Summer HVAC Part 1

We’ve been enjoying the moderate temperatures lately, but it’s getting hotter and your HVAC system could use some help to keep you cool this summer.  First off, it’s a good idea to schedule a tune-up on your system.

An HVAC professional will check that your system is running properly.  Request that your condenser fan and coils be cleaned as this can help your system run more efficiently.  Now that lawn care is a bigger part of your weekend schedule, remember to keep vegetation at least two feet away from your unit and aim grass clippings away from the unit when mowing.  While keeping bushes and shrubs away from your unit is a good idea, shading your HVAC is a good idea as well.  Of course it’s cooler in the shade, and your system doesn’t have to work as hard if the air being pulled in is already cooler than the highest temperature for the day.
