Perhaps you’ve gotten the memo that you should be wearing sunscreen any time you go outside to protect your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays.  But have you ever considered that the sunscreen you’re using may not be much better for your health?

Some chemical additives in sunscreens have been found to cause irritation, endocrine disruption, developmental and reproductive toxicity, organ system toxicity, and even cancer.  So how can you protect your family from the sun and from the toxins found in sunscreens?  Be an informed shopper!  Avoid products with oxybenzone and other benzophenone compounds as well as octinaxate within the active ingredients in your sunscreen.  Looking for an easier way to shop?
