 There are lots of questions about what to do when dealing with the aftermath of the horrific floods that have affected so much of out State. Well, guess who has been doing research on not just agriculture and landscape plants but topics related to buildings, dishes, clothing and other areas of concern – Extension.

eXtension.org compiles information from all the US Extension Services so you can find fact sheets ranging from flooding to fire ants. Just go to Extension.org and enter flooding in the search box to find a wealth of information from extension offices across the country. More locally, if you search Clemson Extension Flood Disaster Resources, you’ll come up with a list of topics ranging from how to apply for insurance, how to salvaging clothes, to what to do with flooded gardens and fields, even flooded farm vehicles and equipment.

Amanda McNulty is a Clemson University Extension Horticulture agent and the host of South Carolina ETV’s Making It Grow! gardening program. She studied horticulture at Clemson University as a non-traditional student. “I’m so fortunate that my early attempts at getting a degree got side tracked as I’m a lot better at getting dirty in the garden than practicing diplomacy!” McNulty also studied at South Carolina State University and earned a graduate degree in teaching there.
