Healthy Vacations

You deserve a break, in fact, many studies suggest that taking a vacation can relieve stress and improve your level of happiness.  But do your homework before you leave to ensure your vacation is a safe and relaxing one.

Call your insurance company to make sure you’ll be covered where you’re traveling.  It may be worth purchasing some extra travel insurance.  Be sure to pack a small first aid kit with basic items like band-aids, hydrocortisone cream, allergy medication, and enough of your prescription medications to last in case you get stranded.  Pack this kit, along with your valuables and travel documents in your carry-on luggage in case your checked luggage is lost.  And while traveling, whether by plane, train, or automobile, be sure to stay hydrated, wash your hands often, and try to get up and stretch or walk every few hours to increase circulation.
