The late Allen Toussaint, pianist, singer, composer, and producer, defined the sound of New Orleans. He penned early R&B hits including “Working in a Coalmine” and “A Certain Girl,” produced Funk legends The Meters, and worked with artists from The Band to Elvis Costello. This week, Toussaint performs a set of his original songs, including “Mother-in-law” and “Southern Nights” in a program recorded last year.
