Uses for Lemons

Earthsense

If you’re like me, you’re always looking for toxin-free products to keep your home safe and healthy.  The best products are things that you may already have in your refrigerator.  For example, lemons and lemon juice have a host of uses besides simply making lemonade.

A half a cup of lemon juice added to your washing machine’s rinse cycle can safely bleach your whites and avoid toxic chlorine salts that are found in most commercial bleaches.  Lemon juice can also deter many insects so squirt lemon juice along window seals and door jambs and use it in your floor wash to repel spiders, ants, and roaches.  Looking for a way to polish your stainless steel range or copper pots?  Slice a lemon in half, dip it in salt, and then scrub your way to spotless metal surfaces.
