Best Plants for Backyard Privacy

Earthsense

Need a little privacy in your backyard, but hate the thought or the expense of installing fencing?  Well, there are a plenty of shrubs, vines, and trees that can increase the privacy without breaking your budget.  Bamboo grows quickly, so it can create a lush and exotic privacy screen fast.

Start your bamboo in large raised planters to keep it under control, as some varieties can be invasive.  Holly comes in shrub varieties, is available as a tall tree, and even comes in soft-leafed varieties for those who dislike its signature spiny leaves.  Boxwood shrubs are always a classy choice, and Hicks Yew is a low-maintenance choice that is a favorite of backyard wildlife because of its winter berries.
