Summer Salads

Earthsense

Summers in South Carolina are hot, as you well know, so take a break from the heat of the kitchen with these delicious summer salad ideas

Spruce up any salad with fresh berries.  Whether you top your salad with strawberries and gorgonzola or blueberries and parmesan, berries are a sweet additive to those summer greens.  Take your cooking outdoors and grill sliced fresh peaches to top your greens, and then add some mozzarella.  And who says your salad has to be made with lettuce?  Boil some pasta and add green beans, chopped onion, grapes, and mayonnaise for a zesty pasta salad.  For a sweet option, chop watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, and honey dew and mix in mozzarella cheese for a savory bite.
