Emergency Car Kit - Winter

Earthsense

Emergency preparedness is a good idea any time of year, and your car is one place where you should definitely have a few emergency items on hand all the time.  Consider keeping things like jumper cables, a flashlight, a small first aid kit, water, and flares or reflective triangles.

If you’re a parent to small children, then a change of clothes or diapers may be in your emergency kit as well.  And any seasonal change my effect what you keep in your kit.  For example, emergency items you may want to keep during the winter could include de-icer, an ice scraper, gloves, a hat and a winter coat.  Although we don’t see much snow or ice in this region, a shovel and cat litter or sand may also be part of your winter preparedness.  These items can be helpful if you need to dig out of a sticky situation or add some traction in a slick spot.
