The Beaufort County Sheriff’s office and a local law firm are offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in a deadly mass shooting on St. Helena Island two weeks ago.
Authorities say as many as 700 people were celebrating at Willie’s Bar and Grill when someone opened fire in the early morning hours of October 12th. Four people were killed, and at least 16 others were injuries as people spilled out into a parking lot outside the restaurant.
In the days following the shooting, Beaufort County Sheriff P.J. Tanner said investigators had a pretty good idea who was responsible, perhaps two or three people who knew one another.
“They had an ongoing feud with each other,” said the sheriff “They resorted to pulling guns.”
But Sheriff Tanner said no witnesses had come forward, despite a crowd of hundreds. He said the shooting could be gang related and likely involved machine guns. The Sheriff added SLED and the FBI are assisting in the investigation
Killed in the shooting were 22-year-old Kashawn Glaze of Beaufort, 33- year-old Sherrod Smalls of Beaufort, 22-year-old A’shan’tek Milledge of Burton and 54-year-old-Amos Gary of St. Helena Island. Gary had been working as a security guard at the restaurant.
