A second person in the state has died of winter storm-related causes. The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) confirmed the death of an elderly Lexington County woman Wednesday.
DPH reports the 83-year-old died from hypothermia Sunday while outside. Additional details have not been released.
On Monday, DPH confirmed the death of a 96-year-old Greenwood County woman who also died of hypothermia as a result of Winter Storm Fern.
