Freezing conditions have now been linked to seven deaths in the state.

Weeks of freezing cold and winter storm conditions have now been linked to the deaths of seven South Carolinians.

The latest report comes from Anderson County where the coroner says a man died in his home which did not have adequate heat.

According to the report, Anderson County 911 received a call on Monday just after 1am for an unresponsive male. Responders arrived to find the person was hypothermic.

Ernest Nash, 67, was treated on the scene before being transported to a hospital. He died the next morning.

Prior to Nash's death, the South Carolina Department of Public Health reported six other deaths in the state associated with winter storm conditions—all but one due to hypothermia.
