Myrtle Beach police are warning beachgoers about venomous wildlife washing ashore because of strong currents.

The department says creatures such as jellyfish can still sting on land and should be removed by first responders.

Officials say if you're stung, carefully remove the tentacles. If possible, pour vinegar on the affected area to get the sting down.

The police department is asking the public to report any sightings to first responders including lifeguards, ocean rescue and medical personnel.
