NPR's Joe Palca reports that for the first time, analysis of cat DNA has been used to help convict someone of murder. Cat hairs were found on a jacket splattered with the victims blood. Analysis of the DNA in the hairs showed that it matched DNA of a cat that lived with the prime suspect.
Organ Donations
Tandaleya Wilder reports half of the people waiting for organ or bone marrow transplants are African- American. But African-Americans are much less likely than white Americans to sign up as donors. The result is a critical shortage in donor matches for African-American patients.
