SC Synagogue Remembers Enslaved Black People Who Built It
Dedicated in 1841, Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim's synagogue was built by enslaved Blacks. The congregation is making an effort to formally acknowledge this painful past with a plaque recently installed outside the house of worship. The inscription on the new monument also speaks to KKBE's commitment to equality for all people.
Texas legislation would allow partisan actors to request election audits
The bill would allow county party leaders, candidates, judges and political committees to formally ask the Texas secretary of state's office to review any "irregularities" in an election.

SEC Files First Charges in Stock-Option Dating Probe
Greg Reyes, the former CEO of Brocade Communications, has been charged, along with two others, in a stock-options backdating scheme. The Securities and Exchange Commission announced the charges Thursday. They are the first in a stock-options scandal that is said to involve dozens of U.S. companies.
