Restaurants Once Again See Employee Shortage

Just before the pandemic hit us in full force during March of 2020, the restaurant industry was experiencing a severe shortage of employees with the unemployment rate at a record low. And now that restaurants are returning to more normal activity, they find themselves once again with that problem. And yet the unemployment rate now is considerably higher. What are the causes? Are unemployment benefits more attractive than work? Are workers still unavailable because of childcare and school issues?
