Cool Weather Pet Safety

Our pets are four legged family members, so it’s important to keep their health and safety in mind in cooler weather.  As rodents and pests start to seek warmer indoor temperatures, the use of pesticides increases, but these rodenticides and pesticides can be highly toxic to your pet. If you’re going to use these products, do so with extreme caution and make sure you store them (and any other toxic chemicals like motor oil and coolant) in a place inaccessible to pets and children!  The weather this time of year is great for taking Fido out for a walk, so get out and exercise.  But make sure that pets that spend a considerable amount of time outdoors have access to clean drinking water in a place where that water won’t freeze in the winter-time.
