Green Halloween

Happy Halloween to all you ghosts and ghouls!  Don’t forget to make your Halloween, Trunk-or-Treat, or Fall Festival green and Earth friendly.  Hand out organic or fair trade chocolate. Or you could avoid the sugar all-together and hand out small favors like eco-friendly stickers or noise makers.  Decorate by making ghosts from old fabric scraps you may already have.  For adult parties skip the disposable plates and opt for reusable glass or plastic fare.  And create a party menu using local, organic ingredients.  Initiate a new fall family tradition by making a pilgrimage to a local farm to pick apples, gourds, pumpkins, or even pinecones that you can use to decorate for the fall but that can also be eaten, repurposed, or composted afterwards.
