Milk of Magnesia

Milk of Magnesia is usually used to help indigestion and constipation, but you may not be aware of a number of other uses for this magnesium hydroxide compound.  Because milk of magnesia also contains trace amounts of zinc, this mixture is great for a number of skin problems.  One of the most vexing skin problems for teens and young adults is acne, but milk of magnesia may be one of the cheapest treatments.  When dabbed on the face with a cotton ball at night, milk of magnesia absorbs excess oil, neutralizes acids responsible for acne and the zinc in the compound disinfects skin to help eliminate acne all together.  And you can use milk of magnesia to help soothe skin rashes, and even relieve pain associated with sunburn!  Just dab it with a cotton ball on effected skin to form a thin layer, leave it on overnight and then wash it off with warm water in the morning.
