Sprinkler Water Waste

It’s the time of year when we really think about our lawns and gardens, and while a beautiful green lawn is a joy, think about irrigation maintenance to ensure you’re not wasting water.  Did you know that a single broken sprinkler head can waste as much as 25,000 gallons of water over the course of a six month water season?

So fix or replace any broken sprinklers in your yard.  Connect your pipes and hoses tightly and keep an eye out for any puddles which may suggest a leak.  Direct your sprinklers away from sidewalks and driveways which don’t need water.  And if it’s time to upgrade your irrigation, look for products with the Water Sense label and think about getting an automated and programmable control which tracks weather and only waters your lawn when it needs the extra moisture.
