Homemade Deodorant

Earthsense

The carcinogens and parabens in your cosmetics is a scary topic, and this includes your deodorant which can contain a lot of harmful chemicals.  Natural options can be expensive, but the bottom line is you want them to work!  So try making this probiotic deodorant at home.

Start by melting ¼ cup of coconut oil and ¼ cup of grated Bees Wax in a double boiler.  Once melted, add ¼ cup of baking soda, ¼ cup of Shea butter, 3 tablespoons of arrowroot power, 3 capsules of live probiotic, and 10 drops of tea tree oil and 10 drops of your favorite essential oil.  I like lavender, but you could use citrus, cypress, or even peppermint.  Once mixed, quickly pour the liquid into an empty deodorant container and allow it to harden and cool before use.  A soap mold works well, too, but you may want to keep your deodorant bar in a container.
