Macrame Hanging Planter

Earthsense

Hanging planters are great for indoors and out, and if you have a few old t-shirts, you can make your own colorful macramé hanging planters.  Start by cutting eight pieces of material three to five feet long, depending on how long you want the planter to hang.

Then, them together with a knot at one end, leaving the excess at the top like a tassel.  Lay out the rope in four sections, two pieces of rope per section, and tie a knot in each section about one and a half inches up from the original knot.  Now regroup the rope with adjacent pieces into four new groups and tie those in knots one and a half inches above the last knots- you will be creating a lattice pattern.  Once you have created a seat for your planter, tie the top of all sections into one final large knot, slide the planter into the pouch you’ve created and hang in a sunny spot!
