SC Public Radio's statewide network is experiencing intermittent outages and programming issues due to ongoing infrastructure upgrades. Our team is working to keep these disruptions to a minimum and to resolve issues that do arise. During broadcast outages, streaming on this site, the SCETV App, the NPR App, and smart speakers will remain unaffected.

Gray is a co-founder of Alliance for Self-Directed Education and Let Grow, nonprofits that promote independent learning and playing for kids.

This segment of the TED Radio Hour was produced by Avery Keatley and edited by Katie Monteleone and Manoush Zomorodi. You can follow us on Facebook @TEDRadioHour and email us at TEDRadioHour@npr.org.
