Ratko Mladic, the “Butcher of Bosnia,” has died at 84 while serving a life sentence for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, including the Srebrenica massacre.

Tom Gjelten, a former NPR correspondent who covered the Bosnian war, reports.
