LOCAL SHRIMP
The South Carolina Shrimpers Association filed an amended, federal lawsuit in Charleston today… naming more than two dozen restaurants it says deceives customers by falsely advertising freshly caught Lowcountry shrimp.
The association says 25 restaurants have violated both federal law and the state’s unfair trade practices act by claiming the shrimp on their menus is local when in fact, it’s imported.
An attorney for the shrimpers association says they will begin notifying the restaurants in the coming days… insisting they stop falsely advertising.
