This October, Prisma Health will launch its annual Midlands and Upstate community flu vaccination campaign as part of its system-wide effort to offer protection from the highly contagious virus.

Free flu shots will be available at multiple drive-thru sites in Richland, Sumter, Greenville, Pickens and Oconee Counties to anyone six months or older. Limited high-dose flu vaccines will be offered for people age 65 and older. Flu vaccines cannot be given to those who have COVID-19 or think they have COVID-19.

Prisma Health advises that those receiving vaccines should wear loose fitting clothing that can easily roll up. In addition:

  • Consent forms are required and available at each site.
  • A valid driver’s license or photo ID also is required.
  • There is no out-of-pocket cost to receive a flu shot.
  • Health insurance is not required but please bring your insurance card if you have it.
  • Children under the age of 16 require a parent/guardian signature.
  • Flu shots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
