Meiden America Switchgear, Inc. (MAS), a pioneer in high-performance vacuum technology is expanding operations in Laurens County. The $9.2 million investment will create 43 new jobs.
Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Gray Court, MAS designs, manufactures, tests, and sells high-voltage vacuum circuit breakers and vacuum interrupters. To accommodate several new product lines for its North American market, the company plans to upsize its current production facility by 37,000 sq. ft.

MAS is a subsidiary of Meidensha Corporation, founded in 1897 in Tokyo, Japan. Meidensha has been an industry leader in manufacturing high-voltage circuit breakers for more than half a century.
The expansion, slated for completion next May, will allow MAS to being manufacturing and distributing 123 kV breakers to support North American electric power utility partners and OEMs.
Laurens County Council Chairman Jeff Carroll congratulated MAS on their success and continued growth.
