Drivers alerted to nighttime closure on stretch of I-126 in Richland County

Temporary detours will be in place beginning Nov. 23 near Colonial Life Blvd.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is advising motorists of upcoming nighttime road closures along I-126 near Colonial Life Blvd.

Beginning Nov. 23 at 8 p.m., SCDOT will close the flyover bridge and ramps from I-126 Westbound onto I-126 Eastbound and from Colonial Life Blvd. onto I-126 Eastbound for road maintenance. Work is scheduled to be complete by Nov. 26 at 6 a.m.

Lane closure and detour signs will be placed in the area to inform drivers of the detour and temporary traffic pattern. SCDOT asks that motorists slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone.
