A joint venture between two global automotive manufacturers will drive economic growth in Orangeburg County. SODECIA and AAPICO announced Tuesday the creation of Sodecia Aapico JV to produce advanced ladder frames for automotive sector customer, Scout Motors.

The partnership is the company's first South Carolina operation. The $120 million investment will generate up to 392 new jobs at its Orangeburg location.

SODECIA specializes in manufacturing innovative structural components, powertrain systems and mechanisms for the world’s leading automotive manufacturers.

AAPICO excels in the production of jigs, dies, press parts, chassis frame components, cradles, plastic parts, and forged and machined components.

Construction on Sodecia Aapico JV’s 400,000-square-foot facility is slated for completion in 2027.
