Planned bridge repairs on Elmwood Ave. in Columbia could cause delays for drivers

The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close a portion of Elmwood Ave. both Saturday and Sunday for bridge work.

Weekend bridge repairs on Elmwood Ave. in Columbia could cause delays for drivers.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will close the right westbound lane of Elmwood Ave. for bridge work on Jan. 17 and 18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
 
Traffic patterns are expected to return to normal by Monday, Jan. 19.

SCDOT cautions commuters to slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
