Led by the State Transport Police, the Operation Safe DRIVE (Distracted, Reckless, Impaired, Visibility Enforcement) program is a multi-agency, multi-state partnership to address aimed at reducing traffic collisions in high crash corridors.

A new traffic enforcement effort is underway to crack down on unsafe driving across South Carolina. Led by the State Transport Police, the Operation Safe DRIVE (Distracted, Reckless, Impaired, Visibility Enforcement) program is a multi-agency, multi-state effort aimed at reducing traffic collisions in high crash corridors.

In South Carolina, the highly visible, special enforcement initiatives will focus on Interstates 20, 26, 77, 85 and 95. The efforts will be conducted in partnership with local, state and federal agencies along shared corridors.

The program is designed to address driver behavior in three areas: outreach, education and enforcement. Officers will focus their attention on violations of state law and commercial motor vehicle federal regulations that may lead to traffic collisions.

Additional information on Operation Safe DRIVE can be found here.
