Winter Storm Fern has grounded Delta flights in five states including Arkansas, Louisiana, North Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. At this time, flights to and from South Carolina have not been impacted.

Delta is monitoring conditions and adjusting staffing levels to support travel itineraries. Experts from cold weather hubs are being deployed to airports like Atlanta, Birmingham, Huntsville, Knoxville, and Nashville to assist deicing and baggage teams.

The winter storm is expected to impact travel Friday - Monday. Delta encourages travelers headed to, from, or through airports in the Northeast, Southeast, and Southern Plains to verify flight status before heading to the airport.

In an effort to minimize the disruption for customers, Delta also has issued a travel waiver for Eastern North America, in addition to the winter weather waiver issued Thursday covering impacted parts of the central and southeastern U.S.
