SCEMD activates winter weather hotline

The South Carolina Emergency Management Division has opened the resource for residents who have questions about the state's winter weather response efforts. The number to call is 1-866-246-0133.

The South Carolina Emergency Management Division (SCEMD) has activated the state's winter weather hotline. Anyone with questions about response efforts such as sheltering information, road conditions or safety conditions can call 1-866-246-0133.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service (NWS) report the threat of freezing rain will continue across the Upstate through early Sunday evening. Lighter freezing rain is expected across the Midlands and coastal plain before conditions intensify late Sunday afternoon and early Sunday evening north of Interstate 20.

Significant ice accumulations of one-quarter to one-half inch are expected in the Upstate, with one-tenth to one-quarter inch forecast across the Midlands and Pee Dee north of I-20.
