The $63 million investment will create more than a dozen new jobs.

Hydrite Chemical Co. is investing $63 million to expand operations in Laurens County.

Founded in 1929, Hydrite is one of the nation's largest independent providers of chemicals and related services—offering an array of sustainable solutions including food and beverage, manufacturing, and agriculture and sulfur.

Hydrite's new facility will be located in the Hunter Industrial Park in Laurens and will serve as the future hub for Southeast operations, which includes the recently acquired Enterprise Specialty Products, Inc. (ESP). Hydrite announced the acquisition of the Laurens-based ESP last September.

The move to obtain ESP marked Hydrate's entrance to the Southeast region. Other facilities are located in California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin and Texas.

The Laurens County expansion is slated for completion in 2028 and will create 13 new jobs. Anyone interested in joining the Hydrite team should visit the company's careers page.
