A South Carolina football player has been arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Columbia. Davonte Miles, 22, is charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.
According to the Richland County Sheriff's Department, deputies pulled Miles near Bluff and S. Stadium Roads about 1 p.m. Tuesday for improper display of a vehicle tag and window tint violation.
During the stop, deputies smelled marijuana in the vehicle and conducted a search. Officers seized approximately 20 individual bags of green plant material consistent with the drug, as well as a firearm.
Miles is a senior defensive lineman for the Gamecocks. He transferred to South Carolina last year after three seasons at Bowling Green.
