Headquartered in North Augusta since its founding in 2005, AmbioPharm specializes in developing and manufacturing peptide-based active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The company produces materials under current good manufacturing practice (GMP) guidelines for clinical and commercial clients across the globe.

The multi-million dollar expansion will take place at AmbioPharm's existing South Carolina campus located at 1024 Dittman Court in North Augusta. The company plans to construct a new modular manufacturing building designed to support:
- Commercial-scale GMP peptide synthesis
- Solid-phase, liquid-phase, and hybrid production approaches
- Semi-automated production systems and advanced solvent delivery infrastructure
The new facility is expected to be fully online and operational by the end of 2027.
