The annual St. Pat's in Five Points will returns to downtown Columbia Saturday, bringing together thousands for a day filled with live music, culture and community. Ahead of the festivities, the City of Columbia and Columbia Police Department are reminding residents and visitors alike to plan ahead.
Policies and safety reminders
Festival-goers are reminded about policies in place to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
The event is cashless, and a clear bag policy will be enforced. Attendees may bring one empty, clear water bottle to take advantage of hydration stations which will be located throughout the event space.
EMS will be stationed near the intersection of Santee and Devine Streets. Additionally, Lost and Found will be located at the St. Pat's Festival tent.
Attendees also are encouraged to bring a portable battery pack for phone charging. A full list of rules and policies can be found here.
Transportation and parking
Parking is encouraged at the State Fairgrounds, where shuttle services will be available. Ride shares also are strongly encouraged. There will be a designated drop off location at the intersection of Laurens and Blossom Streets.

Neighborhood courtesy
Public safety personnel will be located at various locations throughout the festival to assist attendees while supporting a safe environment. Visitors are asked to respect surrounding neighborhoods by avoiding parking in residential areas and properly disposing of trash and litter.
Road closures
Several roads surrounding Five Points will be closed, beginning Friday. Those include:
- 2100 Green St.: 8 a.m. Friday - 11:59 p.m. Saturday
- 600 block of Harden St., 700 blocks of Saluda and Santee Avenues: 6 p.m. Friday - 11:59 p.m. Saturday
Additionally, the following streets will be closed from 2 a.m. - 11:59 p.m. Saturday:
- Blossom St. between Pickens and Heidt
- Greene St. between Laurens and Heidt
- Devine St. between Laurens St. and Millwood Ave.
- Saluda Ave. between Greene and Blossom
- Harden St. between Blossom and Pendleton
- Santee Ave. between Blossom and Heidt
- College St. between Laurens and Pine
