South Carolina boaters can take advantage of free boat inspections during Memorial Day weekend. Courtesy checks will be offered by the state Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) at various public boat landings.
During the brief inspections, SCDNR officers will check for required safety equipment and proper boat and motor registrations. Anyone not in compliance won't be ticketed but will be given the opportunity to correct any issues before launching their boat.

Saturday, May 23: 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
- Anderson County: Twin Lakes Landing, Lake Hartwell
- Charleston County: Wapoo Cut Landing, Intracoastal Waterway
- Greenwood County: SC Highway 72 Landing at Break on the Lake, Lake Greenwood
- Horry County: Little River Landing
- Lexington County: Lake Murray Dam Landing
- York County: Ebenezer Park/Lake Wylie
- Beaufort County: Battery Creek Boat Landing
Sunday, May 24: 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
- Beaufort County: Lemon Island Boat Ramp
- Charleston County: Remley's Point
- Clarendon County: Alex Harvin Landing, Lake Marion
- Colleton County: Bennett's Point Landing
- Kershaw County: Clearwater Cove Landing, Lake Wateree
- McCormick County: Dorn Landing, Lake Thurmond
- Berkeley County: Amos Gourdine/Russellville Landing
Monday, May 25: 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
- Charleston County: Limehouse Landing
- Georgetown County: Carroll Ashmore Campbell Marine Complex Landing
- Lexington County: Lake Murray Dam
- Pickens County: South Cove Landing, Lake Keowee
- York County: Ebenezer Park/Lake Wylie
SCDNR officers will also be available to answer questions and give boaters tips on how to stay safe on the water.
