Twelve people from two states have been infected with E. Coli after reportedly eating Greenwise organic frozen blueberries. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says four people have been hospitalized.
The FDA and state partners are working to determine the source of contamination. The blueberries were shipped to Publix stores in South Carolina and seven other states including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
The blueberries, a product of a Chile-based company, were sold in 10-oz packages with a printed lot code of 60401 and Best by Date of February 9, 2028. Consumers are urged not to eat, sell or serve the recalled frozen organic blueberries.
Symptoms of E. Coli include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, fever, nausea and vomiting. More information on the recall can be found on the FDA's website.
