The South Carolina Election Commission has determined voter eligibility for the Aug. 11 Special Republican primary.

The state Election Commission (SEC) has announced who can vote in the Aug. 11 Special Republican primary.

The election will determine the GOP candidate for Sen. Lindsey Graham's U.S. Senate seat. The 71-year-old unexpectedly passed July 11 from an aortic tear. The Republican nominee will face Democratic nominee, Dr. Annie Andrews, in the November General Election.

Gov. Henry McMaster on Monday appointed Darline Graham to finish out her brother's term in the Senate. That term ends in January 2027.

According to the SEC, voters who participated in the June Republican primary or those who didn't vote in either party's primary are eligible to vote on Aug. 11. Those who voted in the June Democratic primary are not eligible.

Filing opens a noon on July 21 and closes at noon on July 28. Early voting is Aug. 5 to Aug. 7. If necessary, a runoff would take place Aug. 25. Additional information can be found on the SEC's website.
